While helping her grandmother clear out the old attic the teen stumbled across the large mirror, draped in a smudge-proof cloth. Its frame was intricate and adorned with bizarre designs that resembled faces. Incredulous, she took the cloth off and then wiped the glass with a clean cloth.
At first she believed she was seeing her reflection. However, she then observed something unusual. As she raised her hands, she saw the reflection follow–but just a second later. As she smiled nervously and the reflection’s smile was lingering until her smile smile had disappeared.
Chills rushed down her spine. She approached, convinced that it was just a trick of light. However, as she lean into the mirror, it was not. It stared straight at her with wide eyes, a smile that was unnaturally wide.
Afraid, she rang her grandmother who promptly covered the mirror with shaking hands. The elderly woman was unable to discuss the matter, instead muttering: “That mirror has been in the family for for too long. Do not ever reopen it. .”
Many believe that the mirror is an heirloom belonging to a family house that burned years ago. Some say it contains the soul of a person who was once there hidden behind the mirror’s glass.
The girl says she thinks of the delayed reflection, smiling even after she’s been able to stop.
